Bartholomew "Bart" J. Simpson is a fictional character from the animated TV show, The Simpsons. He first appeared on The Tracey Ullman Show in the short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987.
Bart is the eldest child and only son of Homer and Marge Simpson, and the brother of Lisa and Maggie. He is known for his mischievous, rebellious, and often disrespectful behavior. His signature catchphrase is "Eat my shorts!"
